Description:

This saber is very similar to one pictured on page 106 of "Swords and Blades of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. It has a 25 7/8" slightly curved double fullered blade with 8" long false edge, and no ricasso markings. The steel "D" guard has a rounded qullion with four-slot, pierced panels. The grip is twisted cow horn with a steel band in the channel. The sword has an urn-shaped steel pommel.

Rating Definition:

Good. The blade has a steel gray patina with some pitting concentrated at the tip. Hilt is good, with some mild spotting and handing marks, and the grip is very good, with light wear on the horn.
