Description:

Manufactured between 1863 and 1865 with approximately 32,000 made. Dovetail blade front sight and hammer groove rear sight. Standard "STARR. ARMS. CO. NEW. YORK." address on left side of frame, and "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856" on the right. Serial numbers match on the front of the barrel lug, on the cylinder, and the hammer cutout on the frame. There is a "B" and "C" inspection mark on some components. One-piece varnished walnut grips with faint cartouches on each side.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The frame retains approximately 20% original finish while the balance of the metal has a smooth brown patina. There is some very minor pitting on the frame and cylinder. The grips are fair with some wear on the lower edges, a few minor dings on the bottom and overall minor handling marks. As mentioned above, the cartouches are faint, but fine. The markings are clear. The action is very good, but slightly loose.
