Similar in appearance to the Remington - Beals Army revolver but in 36 caliber and a 7 1/2 inch octagon barrel. The top barrel flat is marked "BEALS' PATENT. SEPT. 14. 1858. / MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON'S ILION. N.Y.". Matching serial number marked on the bottom of the barrel and the left side of the frame under the grip panel. German silver cone front sight, frame notch rear sight, silver plated brass trigger guard and fitted with smooth two-piece walnut grips. Manufactured from 1860 to 1862 with a total production of approximately 15,000.

Very good plus. The barrel retains approximately 20-30% of the original high polish blue finish mixed with smooth brown patina. The frame has a smooth brown patina. The trigger guard shows strong original silver plating in protected areas. The hammer and loading lever retain strong traces of vivid case colors. The grips are very good with tape residue on the right panel, minor handling marks and hand rubbed finish. The markings are clear. The action is very good.
