This is a fine example of a quality 2 Parker shotgun accompanied by a factory letter which confirms it configuration. The letter states: quality 2, top action hammer, 12 gauge, Damascus steel barrels of 30", pistol grip stock. The order specifications were "7-3/4-8 lbs and a nice looker." The price was $80.00. The letter further states that this shotgun was ordered by W.R. Schaefer and Sons in Boston, MA on September 9, 1889 and shipped on November 2, 1889. Additional features include a single bead front sight on solid matte rib, double triggers and ejectors. Choked improved cylinder and full. The frame is lightly engraved scrolls and game birds on each side. finished with a checkered deluxe walnut pistol grip stock and forearm and features a silver inlayed shield motif just behind the upper tang.

Very fine. The barrel retains nearly all of its original and detailed Damascus pattern showing some minor scattered handling marks and surface scratches down the length. The frame retains about half of its original case colors still vibrant on the side plates the balance is now a mottled gray patina. The wood is fine with some light pressure marks. The buttstock displays very fine feathering. Mechanically sound.
