This is a nice example of a late WWII Model 1903A4 sniper rifle as manufactured by the Remington Arms Company that was subsequently rebuilt. This rifle was manufactured in the 3rd block of serial numbers and approximately 7600 were made. The receiver is marked "U.S.REMINGTON MODEL 03A3" on the left side of the receiver, the right side is marked with serial number "499733" and the barrel is marked "R.A. over Ordnance Bomb over 1-44". It has the typical stamped parts and components with a modified 1903A3 bolt to duplicate the original configuration with the enlarged trigger guard. The stock is a correct pistol grip model that is marked with a single circled "P" proof in the pistol grip area, along with a second "P" proof in a square directly behind that. It has the correct small sub inspector proofs in front of the trigger guard and the right side is stamped with a "RRA-C" proof. It is equipped with an original issue US Army Model 84 sniper telescope with hinged covers on the adjustment knobs, and missing the rubber eye-piece. It is marked on the identification plate " TELESCOPE / M84 / SERIAL NO. 14650". The Model 84 scope was utilized during the Korean and Vietnam wars. The bolt and barrel are blue while the remaining parts have a parkerized finish. It is complete with an early Model 1905 bayonet and 1910 canvas scabbard. The blade is marked "SA-1910" with "US 219220" on the obverse.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 95-97% of the GI reparkerized green finish. The stock is in very good to excellent condition showing handling marks, light pressure dents and some dings overall. The scope has 97% of it's original blued finish and the optics are clear and sharp. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet has 90% of the reparkerized finish on the metal parts and the scabbard is in excellent condition. A very nice example of a late WWII production 1903A4 sniper rifle.
