This is a example of a late WWII M1 Carbine as manufactured the Winchester company. This particular carbine has just an exceptional set of very highly figured walnut stock and hand guard. The stock is correctly stamped with a single "W" proof in the sling slot and the hand guard has only a single number "54" stamped on the underside. The carbine itself is late production 5 Million range that has standard receiver markings on the front ring with "WINCHESTER" stamped over the serial number. The top of the barrel is correctly stamped with a single letter "W" and the factory intertwined "WP" acceptance proof. It has the various late features such as the stamped adjustable rear sight, marked LR-CO) a third model barrel band with bayonet lug, and round bolt. It has a late production, three-piece brazed trigger guard that is marked BE-B and the bolt is marked Rock-Ola. As noted it is fitted with a set of highly figured walnut that shows nice trigger stripping through the forend with almost a highly select figure through the hand guard, this type of wood is very scarce and was usually reserved for presentation carbines. It is complete with one blue 20 round magazine and canvas sling.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 99% of the original green parkerized finish overall with just some slight wear on the bolt form cycling the action. The stock and hand guard are both in excellent condition showing minimal handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent. Highly figured burl walnut presentation grade.
