Description:

This is a good example of a late production M1 Garand rifle as manufactured by the Harrington & Richardson Company that was subsequently rebuilt. The rear of the receiver is marked "U.S. RIFLE/ CAL. 30 M1/H.&R. ARMS CO." over the serial number. The right side of the barrel is correctly marked "HRA 6535448 7-54 RS36" with the "P" and small DOD Eagle proofs. It is fitted with all Harrington & Richardson marked parts, with a late production wide gas cylinder assembly, with the wide base high hump gas cylinder lock. It has a walnut stock and handguards with a single DOD cartouche on the left side below the magazine release. It is complete with a light green canvas sling with a faint ink stamp marking on the inside.

Rating Definition:

Arsenal refurbished overall with 97% of a late GI reparkerized finish with minor edge and high spot wear. The stock and handguards are in very good to excellent with a nice matching light brown color with minor handling marks and light pressure dents on the sides from field use. A nice example of a late Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand that would be a great candidate for the CMP matches.
