This is an example of an assembled M1D sniper rifle using a late production International Harvester (IHC) receiver mated to a new production blued M1 Garand rifle barrel that has been fitted with a correct GI type M1D barrel block. The rear of the receiver has the standard IHC/M1 Garand receiver markings with a small import mark on the left rear section of the receiver. As noted the rifle has a new production 6-groove standard weight M1 Garand barrel that is marked on the side "2-95 1". The rear of the barrel has been fitted with a correct type of M1D barrel block. It is fitted with a correct style M1D scope mount with a commercial Lyman Alaskan blue scope, (the mount covers the actual scope markings). The rifle is currently fitted with the correct GI parts, (TG, operating rod, bolt assembly, sights, etc. ) except the barrel. It has an excellent new production walnut stock and hand guard set that match in color and grain pattern. The rifle has been accurized by hand fitting the gas cylinder, unitizing the front hand guard and steel bedding the action. The stock has no proofmarks but is fitted with a leather cheek-pad that is marked "MRT-3-59" on the right side. It has a blued finish on the barrel with parkerizing on the rest of the parts. Importer marked :INTrAC KNOX TN." on the left side of receiver.

Importer/Arsenal rebuilt/assembled overall with 98% of the parkerized and blued finish on the various parts, showing minor wear on the edges and high spots. The current production stock and handguard set are near mint and show no handling marks.
