Manufactured between 1954 -55 and 1956,this revolver was owned by and used as a "personal protection" weapon of Famous cowboy star Roy Rogers and most recently displayed in the Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum in Branson, Missouri. The revolver is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity stating that this nickel plated Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum, (mistakenly stated 3" barrel), serial number 105061, Fitz grips and "Roy's personal protection" and "was personally owned and used by cowboy star, Roy Rogers and has been on display inside The Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum", dated February 25th, 2009 and signed by Roy Rogers Jr. The revolver is a standard Pre Model 27 with a serrated raised ramp front and adjustable rear sights, standard markings, casehardened trigger and hammer and fitted with oversize, thumb rest checkered Fitz grips marked "fitz" on the bottom of the right panel.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% original finish with loss limited to the muzzle and a drag line on the cylinder. There is some scattered small areas of "frosting". The hammer and trigger retain almost all of the vivid original case colors, slightly fading on the hammer. The grips are very good. They are slightly warped along the front strap, there is a minor scratch at the top of and a few minor chips along the bottom edge of the right panel, minor handling marks and crisp checkering. A nice Pre-Model 27 revolver once owned by one of America's most famous cowboy stars.
