Description:

The First Model Dagger, also known as the Fliegerdolche (Flyer's Dagger), was adopted by the Luftwaffe in 1935, though it was originally used by the Deutsches Luftsportverband starting in 1934. 12 1/4" long double edge spear point blade, with the E. & E. Horster (Solingen) makers mark on one side. Grip is blue painted leather with silver wire, and the guard and round pommel are silver finished brass with gilt brass "sun wheel" swastikas. The sheath has a matching blue leather cover and silver finished throat, tip and hanging rings, which are connected to a chain belt hanger.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with some light wear on the blade, minor paint loss on the leather, and a dark patina on the silver with light wear on the cross guard and pommel.
