This Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle was manufactured in 1911. The rifle has a 24-inch round barrel with full length magazine. The rifle has a straight grip, varnished walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate and walnut forearm with steel cap. The barrel, magazine, receiver and buttplate are blued and the loading lever and hammer are case-hardened. The barrel has a blued, fixed blade front sight and a sporting style rear sight. The Winchester legend and patent dates: "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN.U.S.A. PATENTED OCTOBER 14.1884." in two lines on the left side of the barrel ahead of the rear sight. The caliber designation, "25-20 W.F.C." is stamped on the left side of the barrel behind the rear sight and oval, Winchester, "W/P" proofmarks are stamped on the top of the barrel and the receiver. The upper barrel tang is roll-stamped: "MODEL 1892/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG IN US PAT. OFF." in three lines. The serial number, "692802" is stamped on the forward edge of the lower receiver.

Very good. The barrel and magazine tube retain approximately 75% of the original blue finish. The forearm cap and receiver have a blue brown aged patina with silvering on the highpoints. There is some light pitting on the forward edge of the left side of the receiver. The hammer and loading lever retains traces of the casehardened finish in protected areas and have scattered age spotting. The buttplate has traces of the original blue finish with some scattered surface rust. The barrel and receiver markings are clear. The stock and forearm retain most of the original varnish finish and show light to moderate handling wear.
