Standard four inch barrel, German Luger pistol as used by German forces during WWI. The top of the chamber area is dated 1915 and the right side of the barrel extension is marked with three "crown/script letter" proofs and one Imperial eagle proof. Imperial Eagle marking on upper right side of barrel. Serial number, inspector's mark (small script "l") and barrel diameter of "8,82" on underside of barrel. Serial number and inspector's mark on yoke. The toggle link is marked "DWM" and the left side of the toggle has a small Imperial eagle proof. The number "59" is stamped on extractor, toggle link, side plate, sear bar, safety, locking bolt and below rear sight. The safety and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Fitted with checkered walnut grips. Overall metal finish is a rust blue, and straw color on the takedown lever, trigger and safety lever. The magazine is blue with the plastic base. The lower left side of the replacement WW II magazine is marked "P08" and "fxo" over "eagle/37".

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains approximately 90% original finish with wear on the toe of the front strap, stock lug, muzzle and some high edges. The side plate shows some flaking. There is some thinning on the left side of the barrel and light spotting on the grip straps. Approximately 60% of the straw colors remain on the small components with some wear on the takedown lever and trigger, and some light pitting on the safety lever. The grips are very good with scattered minor bruises, a few minor dings, some heavy wear on the lower edges and crisp checkering. Half of the magazine grip button on the right side is missing. The markings are clear and crisp. The mechanics are fine with the exception of the magazine, which does not activate hold-open.
