Dated 1940 on top of the chamber and marked "42" on the toggle. Two "eagle/ 655" proofs and the "eagle/ swastika" firing proof appear on the right side of the barrel extension with an "eagle/ 655" on the left side of the barrel and "eagle/ swastika" on the right side of barrel. Underside of barrel is marked with serial number and bore diameter "8,83". Safety and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Left side of breechblock is marked with "eagle and swastika" test proof. Blue finished small parts with "70" mark, checkered walnut grips, and blue "P.08" magazine marked with "fxo" and "eagle/37" with aluminum base. The non-standard field made or custom commercial brown leather holster is marked "P.08" on back over the serial number "8972". The front flap is marked "Bengazi" in stamped block lettering and it has a leather latching strap sewn on the front in the shape of an "S" narrowing to a tail that is inserted through the metal "U" on body of the holster.

Very good overall. The pistol retains approximately 75% original finish overall with even honest wear on the exposed surfaces from actual use. The grips are very good with scattered minor bruises, a few minor dings, some heavy wear on the higher edges and good checkering. The markings are clear and crisp. The mechanics are very good. Holster very good but shows use, stitching is tight.
