A) Mauser Model WTP I Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box

Description:

The Model WTP I was Mauser's first post-WWI new design and first vest pocket pistol. Production ended in the late 1930s when the WTP II was introduced. The left side of the slide is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.-G. OBERNDORFAN. / W.T.P.-6,35-D.R.P.U.A.P.". A "crown / U" proof is marked on the barrel and slide. Fitted with Mauser wraparound grips. Included is the original factory box and German instructions.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, showing approximately 98% original blue with some minor pin-prick size spotting on the right side of the slide. The grips are also excellent with light handling marks. The box is poor with taped repairs, a couple water marks on the lid, separation and heavy fraying.

Description:

Introduced in 1921. Features fixed sights with a concave milled sighting plane with a 7-shot magazine, grip safety, and smooth two piece walnut grips with the Deutsche brass "D" medallion inlays at the top. The left side of the slide is marked, "DEUTSCHE WERKE ("D" logo") WERK ERFURT", and "ORTGIES PATENT" on the right. The forward underside of the frame is marked "GERMANY" over the serial number. The magazine is nickel plated and marked, "Germany" on the left side. Complete with original "Ortgies" manual/instruction booklet.

Rating Definition:

Good, 50% original finish with some minor touch-up blue. The metal surfaces exhibit overall moderate pitting and thinning. The grips are in good condition with minor to moderate scratches/scuffing. The markings are clear and the action is excellent.
