Description:

This is a good example of a late WWII German K43 rifle as manufactured by the Walther factory. The left side of the rough forged receiver is marked with a small "Eagle 359 Waffenamt/K43/ac 45 (stacked)/serial number". It has the rough cast bolt carrier, with the cocking knob on the left side with the lock on the right side with the reinforcing web on top. It is fitted with the sheet metal action cover with the sliding dust cover and the end of the barrel is unthreaded. It appears that this was one of the earlier rejected receivers that was reclaimed as it originally has the scope based milled off and now in that area is a milled dovetail bar that has been screwed on to the side of the receiver. It is fitted with the a war time laminated stock and handguard. It is complete with an original WWII leather sling, the metal keeper is marked "L&F", an "aye" K43 magazine, and reproduction cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall with 85% of the wartime blued finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots overall with thinning on the receiver, bolt carrier, action cover, with more loss on the exposed section of the barrel and barrel band. The trigger guard is just starting to brown out overall. The stock and handguard are in very good condition overall showing handling marks and light pressure dents from field use on the sides of the buttstock and under the forend with signs of a light varnishing. The sling is in good condition and it is missing the lower buttplate screw. A good example of a late war K43 rifle.
