The top of the receiver is marked "bcd", the wartime code for the factory, over "41" for the year of manufacture. The receiver ring is drilled and tapped for scope mounts; then converted to a double claw scope set-up. The scope is marked "C. REICHERT WIEN" and "NO 6362" with commercial quick release mounts. Hooded ramp inverted "V" front and tangent rear sights. The top of the barrel is marked "GERMANY", Eagle firing proof followed by "XX3824" on the left side of the barrel and receiver, "660" visible on the right side of the barrel and "MOD. 98" on the left receiver wall. Numbers match with the exception of the safety. Has a leather sling marked "2809-7013".

Very good as assembled. The barrel and receiver retain approximately 80% of the blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina and some patches of smooth gray patina near the muzzle (finish is stronger on the barrel). Some minor pitting on the bolt which has been altered and ground down to clear the scope. The trigger guard and floor plate retain about half of the blue with the balance between a smooth brown and gray patina. A smooth gray patina is on the barrel band. The markings are clear. The stock is excellent with some minor dings. The scope retains about 40% of the blue with the balance a smooth gray patina and some minor pitting. The optics are clear.
