Description:

Manufactured in 1893. Number 3 round barrel with a German silver blade front sight and a buckhorn rear sight and marked with the standard two line address and "32-40" at the breech. The serial number is marked on the lower tang along with the patent date. Blue finished with casehardened lever and buttplate. Smooth Schnabel forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The barrel retains approximately 30% of the original faded blue finish (strongest at the breech) with the balance a smooth brown patina and some minor spotting. The rest of the metal surfaces have a mix between a mottled gray and smooth dark patina with patterns of faded case colors on the frame. Overall, some minor spotting. The lightly sanded and refinished wood is good with numerous dings and scratches and a couple minor gashes. There is a small swivel hole (now absent) on the underside of the buttstock. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
