Description:

All brass, except as noted. 1) 6 1/8" tall and 9 1/2" wide at the mouth, tapering in at the middle with a heavy base. 2) 3 5/8" tall and 9 1/2" across the lid, which forms a wide funnel. 3) Penn Lumber copper spittoon, 3 1/4" tall, 4 3/8" wide mouth with tapered funnel, pinched midsection, iron weight in base and makers marks in a band around the chamber. Company established in 1940 and still active today. 4) Albert Pick & Company copper spittoon. The company was founded in Chicago in 1857 as a hotel supply firm, and entered the hotel business directly in the Great Depression. 7 3/8" tall and 7 1/2" wide at the mouth, with pinched center and flared base. Makers marks on the underside. 5) Hotel spittoon from the Goldfield Hotel in Goldfield, Nevada. Established in 1908, the hotel was virtually abandoned after the town gold mines went bust, and has become the subject of multiple TV programs and a book due to its reputation as being haunted. 11 1/2" tall and 10 1/4" wide at the mouth, constructed of brass and copper with a pinched neck, flared main chamber, and weighted base. A tag on the chamber reads "GOLDFIELD HOTEL/ GOLDFIELD NEVADA".

Rating Definition:

1) Good, with rust on the inside and a fine aged patina on the exterior, showing mild dings. 2) Fair, with a thin crack visible on the side and a mixed patina. 3) Very good, with a mixed patina to the exterior and a very small amount of spotting. 4) Very good, with some white specks visible on the exterior, along with a fine aged patina. 5) Good, with some dents visible on the exterior, scattered spotting, and a deep aged color overall.
