This is a straight, fixed-length 22 inch long presentation police baton. Constructed out of a plain finish deluxe rosewood, the baton has ivory components: the tip, smooth middle section of the grooved grip and ball pommel. An engraved shield on the shaft has the following inscription: "PRESENTED TO / SERGT / George H. Wilson / BY THE / Members of the / 2nd SUB. 89TH PRECT / Sept. 14TH 1905". There is also a white braided rope with a pair of tassels attached to the grip.

Excellent. The ivory and the wood is excellent. The wood has some extremely minor dings and scratches. Virtually all of the varnish remains. The rope has age discoloration, but the braiding and tassels remain tight.
