Born in France, 1835, Jules Moigniez was active for only 14 years before illness forced him out of the craft. Productions of Moigniez's work continued through World War I. Measuring 15 1/2" tall and 23" long, the statue depicts a hunting setter with a dead pheasant in its mouth, head held high and tail extended. The ground below the dog is a little rough, with fallen branches and a small tree stump. Artists signature is visible on the base.

Excellent. A fine patina is present on the statue, darker in the lower areas with a nearly gold color on the high points. High quality detail.
