Done by Duchoiselle Fr. in 1870. This pair of Indian bronzes is rarely seen as a set as they were sold separately. Pocahontas is seen sitting down in a canoe paddling upstream to see her lover. The other, a male warrior, shows the commerce of the Native Americans as his canoe is filled with game and native attire. Bronze is listed in Bergman book on bronzes Vol. 2, page 292 and artist listed in Benezeit Vol. 4, page 1252. Signed on the canoe that rests on great oval marble plinth.
