Description:

Very rare and desirable lot of cigar lighters that would typically be found in bars. All three are equipped with a red/ red-orange glass bulb, and lack makers marks. 1) Figural lamp of a medieval soldier in half-plate, 19 1/4" tall. Carrying a scepter in one hand and a standard banner in the other. The figure and base are an alloy painted bronze color, and the gas fittings are brass. Full height of the lamp is 24 1/2" tall. A valve is fitted to the rear, and appears to have been plugged. 2) Figure of a well dressed huntsman, with a dead bird in his left hand and holding a torch aloft with his right, with a gas feed line running up his foot and into the torch. On a round base with a square black marble plinth, total height 20 1/2" tall. Fitted with an unplugged valve. 3) Figure of a swordfighter wearing a breastplate, raised horn in the left hand and sword in the right. Iron construction, with brass horn, sword, base and gas line, on a square stone plinth. Height of figure is 8 3/4", total height 15".

Rating Definition:

1) Good, with some flaking of the paint and a few tiny chips of the glass. 2) Very good. A dark aged patina has formed, with brighter accents on the high points. Part of the torch is slightly loose. 3) Very good. A few light handling marks are present. The gas tube was soldered at some point.
