Description:

Manufactured from 1883 to 1907. Blade front sight and sporting type rear sight on a barrel marked with the one line top flat Ilion address and "40 2 1/2" on the underside. The casehardened action has the Hepburn patent marking on the left side and is fitted with double set triggers. Mounted on a round knob pistol grip stock with checkered grip area, plain forearm with iron tip and carbine style buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good. Overall the metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina with limited traces of silvered out case colors on the frame. Buttplate has some minor pitting. The period reoiled wood is very good with some minor dings, pressure dents and scratches and a few minor gouges. The checkering is crisp. Frame marking is light, otherwise markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
