The lock is marked "Mre Rle de / Chatellerault", "Mle 1837" on upper tang and acceptance marks on many on the components. Brass barrel band, trigger and buttcap, with an anchor stamped on the buttcap. Provisions for a swivel ramrod. The left side of the stock has a belt hook, which is missing the forward screw.

Very goo, incomplete. The metal surfaces have been cleaned bright and are beginning to age again. Swivel ramrod and a lock screw are absent. The stock is fine with the exception of a deep indentation and absent chip near the upper tang, along with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
