Manufactured circa 1830 -1845, this pistol features superposed barrels which rotate at the breech. Each barrel has it's own nipple, is marked with two crossed scepter proofs on one side and two number "1" and two dots on the opposite. The solid rib between the barrels at the breech and the frame are engraved with a floral scroll pattern. There are simple geometric and line bordering on frame, hammer and muzzle end of the barrels. The barrels were finished blue and the remaining parts casehardened. Folding trigger and fitted with a one piece, checkered walnut grip with a silver thumb oval.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth mottled gray patina. Strong vivid original case colors remain on the left side of the hammer, with the balance having a smooth mottled brownish gray patina. The grip is very good retaining almost all of the original finish, showing a few overall scattered minor dings and dents and having crisp checkering. The engraving is crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
