Description:

1) Photograph of standing solider with musket. In oval wood frame featuring carved accents with oval matte. The back of the frame has an inscribing stating that the man is Charles Hutchins of Fremont, Indiana, he fought in the Civil War to never return (exact circumstances of his disappearance are unknown). 2) Tintype of solider portrait in paper case with floral motif and maroon lining and filt framing. 3) Tintype of three soldiers in a paper case with floral motif, velvet lining, and filt framing.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good. Frame has some minor handling marks with a few absent chips. There is a tear in the matte and some staining. The tintype retains a clear image. 2-3) Very fine. The case has some minor wear, with 2 having the lid separated. The interior padded lining shows some light wear. The tintype retains a clear image.
