Designed for issue to troops equipped with an angular bayonet for use as a knife and digging tool. 8" long and 3 1/2" wide blade, with an upturned spine and a bar crossguard. Ribbed wood grip, with "US" stamped into the left side. With a leather covered metal sheath, stamped "U.S." on the front, fitted with a brass throat and metal hanging ring.

Fine, with a few small areas of pitting and mild spotting on the blade, a mixed gray patina, and scattered handling marks. Grip is also fine and shows some minor dings. The very fine sheath has some minor scuffing and flaked spots.
