The casehardened low arch breechblock is marked "U.S. / MODEL / 1873". The barrel has the "V P eagle head P" on the left side. It has the correct carbine stock with single barrel band, "US" marked buttplate and an illegible cartouche on the wrist (left side). The serial number is followed with the five pointed star suffix.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel has a smooth dark brown patina. The lock and hammer retain approximately half of the arsenal blue with the balance a smooth gray patina. The two piece trigger guard and buttplate have a mixture between a smooth gray and brown patina. The breechblock retains some strong traces of silver out cases in the protected areas with the balance a smooth dark brown patina. There is a large absent chip near a saddle ring bar base and a small absent chip near the lock plate, otherwise the reoiled stock is very good with some scattered minor handling marks.
