Description:

This unique belt buckle gun is chambered for the 22 rimfire caliber and has 4 1-3/4-inch barrels drilled in a single steel block; individually triggered and spring loaded to snap forward when release lever is depressed. The bottom of the frame is marked "BLN. - 44 - SS / R. V. F. Z. NR. 1/L". The front belt plate is hinged at the top and swings up to expose the barrels, which swing out, and firing mechanism. It has a aluminum Nazi Army eagle affixed to the front. Almost all of the components are marked "1/l" or "1" and it is finished in black. While very unique and collectible in their own right, most existing examples were not officially NSDAP made. The actual original design was an invention originally conceived by Louis Marquis, while in a WWI POW camp in World War I. As an engineer and inventor, Marquis refined his original design and in 1943 reportedly received an order to make examples for Himmler's SS. This particular example follows that design and was made subsequent to this by an unknown maker (BLN is possibly the code for that maker ?). Whatever the case, this is a truly unique item that few possess and many desire.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with approximately 50% of the original black finish remaining mixed with smooth brown patina. Springs remain strong and the mechanics are excellent.
