This is an example of a Type II or Model Number 4 Remington over/under derringer manufactured circa 1912 to 1935. The top of the rib is marked "REMINGTON ARMS - U.M.C. CO. ILION, N.Y." Matching serial number on barrel and frame under left grip. The derringer has the manual extractor and checkered bird head grips.

Fine. The derringer retains approximately 60% of the original factory dull blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some scattered very light pitting. The grips are very fine with some scattered light dings in the overall crisp checkering. The left panel grip has an absent sliver near the butt.
