Description:

Manufactured from 1864 to 1870 by the Moore's Patent Firearms Company and the National Arms Company Brooklyn, New York. This particular revolver is marked "NATIONAL ARMS CO. BROOKLYN, N.Y." on top of the barrel and the rear edge of the cylinder is marked "D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JUNE 5 - MAY 17, 1864". Blue barrel and cylinder and silver plated brass frame with hooked extractor mounted on the right side and the standard floral scroll and punch dot engraving. Brass blade front and hammer notch rear sights and fitted with smooth two piece walnut grips. Approximately 7,000 revolver were made in this configuration.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel and cylinder retain 90% of the original silver plated finish with overall speckled flaking and some thinning. The frame retains 40% of the original silver with some areas darkened with age. The exposed brass has an aged patina. The grips are very good with some moderate high edge wear, numerous small dings on the bottoms and a few minor dents. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.

Description:

Made from 1864 to 1870 with a total quantity estimated at 20,000. Fires the 32 caliber teat-fire cartridge. Six shot cylinder, brass frame with silver plated finish, barrel and cylinder blued with walnut bird's head grips. Front blade sight. Top of barrel is marked "MOORES PAT. FIREARMS Co. BROOKLYN, N.Y." and a star burst at the breech end of barrel, the cylinder is marked "D WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JANUARY 5. 1864". Early variation with small hinged swivel gate on the right side of barrel lug ahead of the cylinder. Decorative scroll engraving on the barrel, frame and backstrap.

Rating Definition:

Good with the blued parts smooth showing mostly a brown patina, silver plated parts have 50% remaining with the balance now showing brass coloration. Barrel and cylinder showing minor pitting. The grips are good showing normal handling wear with the left grip having numerous scuffs and scrapes. Clear marking and crisp engraving. The action is fine.
