The barrel, cylinder and backstrap are blue, the trigger guard is brass and the frame, hammer and loading lever are casehardened. Inspection marks "D" stamped on the backstrap and trigger guard and "C/B" on the cylinder. Matching numbers. Smooth one-piece walnut grip with faint cartouches.

Refinished, with the barrel showing a mix of artificial gray-brown patina and blue finish, the backstrap nearly a smooth gray with hints of blue, and the loading lever shows a yellowed patina. Cylinder is pitted. Hints of the original pattern are visible on the frame, with mild spotting. Brass is very good, with a mixed patina. Mechanically functions, but is out of time.
