Description:

Manufactured in 1909. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, lanyard swivel and longer eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. Left side of the slide is roll stamped with the standard two block two line patent dates and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Standard two line caliber markings on the right side of the slide. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with the Colt "VP/triangle" proofmark. Fitted with "COLT" in a banner over the Rampant Colt checkered grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains approximately 75% original high polish blue finish with gray on the high edges, along with minor thinning on the sides of the slide. The grip straps have a smooth gray patina. The grips are also very fine with some scattered mild handling marks. The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
