Description:

Operating out of Sheffield's Atlantic Works starting in 1864, records showing the firm of Brookes & Crookes active in the late 1910's. Blade is 8 3/4 inches long, with a semi-sharp back clip and the left ricasso marked "BROOKES & CROOKES" in a semi-circle over a bell and "SHEFFIELD". Full length tang, nearly full width and thickness, with a silver dual quillion guard, textured border decoration, light finger groove and a pair of silver pinned ribbed horn grips. With a brown leather sheath, fitted with a silver stud, throat and tip.

Rating Definition:

Very good. Pitting, concentrated at the tip, is visible on the blade, along with mild spotting and handling marks. Leather is cracked and flaked, with a crack in the tip. Grips are very fine, with mild shrinkage and excellent color.
