Description:

Measuring 7 3/4" long, the blade is marked with a crown flanked by "V" and "P" over "W. THORNHILL / LONDON" and has filework on the spine. Ornate guard with checkered ivory handle. The pommel is Queen Victoria's crown, possibly making this knife a gift from the Queen. Thornhill is the most prestigious London maker. OAL: 13 3/4". Complete with a leather sheath with silver tip and throat with carrying stud.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The blade has a mottled gray patina with some machine marks and some minor pitting. The markings are faint but readable. The ornate fittings have a smooth dark patina with some minor pitting on the pommel. The handle has some scattered minor handling marks with overall crisp checkering to the ivory. The ivory has a beautiful aged mellow yellow patina. The sheath has some minor handling marks with some flaking on the leather.
