Manufactured in 1944, this WWII production Colt Model 1911A1 Automatic Pistol passed through the British Proofhouse as part of the Lend-Lease Program. The pistol has a set of "crown/ GP" proofs marked on the right rear side of the slide and frame and the Colt production barrel has a nitro proof with tonnage and diameter markings. The left side of the slide has the standard Colt two line patent and address markings, with the Rampant Colt in the center. "GHD" and "P" are marked on the left side of the frame, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" on the right over the serial number and Ordnance stamp behind the grips. Wide checkered hammer, short stamped trigger, checkered slide catch and thumb safety, long grip safety, serrated arched mainspring housing with lanyard staple. Fitted with checkered and reinforced Colt grips. Complete with a full blue magazine with "S" on the toe.

Excellent plus, with 99% of the original parkerized finish, showing some light edge wear and handling marks overall. Grips are excellent, with some mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent
