Barrel: 19 1/2 inch round
Finish: blue
Grip:
Stock: walnut
Item Views: 1454

Catalog Page: 24
Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun
Description:

World War II production riot gun in unaltered configuration. Single brass bead sight, 2 3/4" chambered and standard three line Stevens address on the left side of the barrel. The left side of the barrel at the breech, and the lower left front of the receiver are marked with the "P / flaming ordnance bomb", "MODEL 620" in the center and "U.S." above the trigger on the left side. The shotgun features a checkered slide handle and pistol grip stock with a Stevens black plastic serrated buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The shotgun retains 70% thinning blue finish with areas of smooth gray/blue patina with an old refinish on the barrel. There are a couple of small areas of minor pitting on the left side of the receiver and some light spotting on the right side. The stock shows signs of some light sanding, recut checkering and has been refinished, and overall there are a few scattered minor dents and dings on the wood with crisp checkering. The stock needs tightening. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is smooth.

B) U.S. Contract Remington Model 11 Semi-Automatic Riot Shotgun

Manufacturer: Remington Arms Inc
Model: 11
Type: Shotgun
Gauge: 12
Barrel: 20 inch round
Finish: blue
Grip:
Stock: walnut
Item Views: 1454
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 24
Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun
Description:

This is an example of a WW II U.S. Military contract Remington Model 11 Riot Shotgun. The shotgun has the dull blue finish, but retains the engraved duck and pheasant game scenes on the sides of the receiver. The walnut stock and forearm have been varnished with the forearm grasping groove found on civilian Model 11 shotguns and the forearm and stock are checkered. The buttplate is serrated plastic with the Remington logo. The bolt is finished bright and marked "MODEL 11". The top of the barrel near the breech and upper left front of the receiver are marked "U.S. ordnance bomb". The receiver does not have the military finish marking. The barrel has a single bead sight, chambered for 2 3/4" or shorter shells and is marked "CYL" cylinder choke. The Remington Model 11 Riot Shotguns were widely issued to guard and security forces during WWII.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The shotgun retains 85% original finish with some thinning on the barrel and overall scattered minor spotting. There are a few minor dings and scratches on the metal. As mentioned above, the wood has been varnished and remains fine with a few minor dents and dings, and crisp checkering. The stock is a bit ill-fitting at the receiver. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
