Rating Definition:

1) Near fine. There is limited paper loss, a few mild stains and some minor spotting. Otherwise, the colors are vivid and bright, The hard board backing appears to be period. 2) About good as mounted on the original poster board. The poster has some paper loss, some separation along the fold crease with paper loss and minor wrinkles. Two large pieces are missing from the left side and one large piece on the right, but without loss to the graphic image. Poster is soiled with slightly faded colors. Backing has some paper loss and wrinkled edges. 3) Very good, with limited separation along the fold crease, some wrinkles, a few minor tears in the border and a couple 2 inch long tears near the top. Shows signs of being rolled at one time. The top border has been folded with some separation along the creases. The color is vivid and bright. 4) Good plus, with some minor border tears, limited paper loss and a 2 inch long tear at the top. A 3" x 2" piece of the upper right corner is torn and folded over with some separation along the folds. There are some minor stains and some minor wrinkles. 5) Fine, with some minor stains, a few small border tears, some mild wrinkles and limited paper loss (mostly at the bottom). The printing is clear. A nice example of a WWI marine recruiting poster.
