Description:

The top of the receiver ring is marked "BUDAPEST / 35M". The rifle features an inverted "V" front and tangent rear sights and is equipped with a sniper scope with leather lens covers. A similar scope on a Model 1935 rife is pictured in Peter Senich's book The German Sniper, 1914-1945 on page 63. Note that the scope on this particular rifle differs from the one in the book in that the scope release is mounted vertically on the rear mount. Turned down bolt handle, which has a unique indentation present on the right side of stock. Components are matching. It has the correct two piece stock joined at the wrist with upper handguard. Complete with leather sling and plastic muzzle cover. Scope ring mount, bolt, and buttplate are numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The rifle retains over 95% original blue finish some light thinning and a spot of finish loss on forward band. The stock and handguard are very fine with some minor dings and dents, along with a few chips along the grain. The scope has cloudy optics, but is excellent on the exterior with 98% of the original blue. These Hungarian 35M sniper rifles are seldom encountered and writer belives this to be the finest example we have ever offered at auction.
