This is an example of a rare original DWM Luger pistol box. The box is 9 1/2" wide x 5 3/4" deep and 1 3/4" high. It is black with a hinged lid and picture label on the lid which reads "Luger Automatic Pistol / Calibre 7.65 mm. (.30 Calibre) / Capable of shooting 116 shots per minute. / Muzzle velocity 1150 feet. / Maximum Range 2000 yards. / DIMENSIONS. / Weight, 1 lb. 13 oz. Length on centre line, 9 1/2 inches. / Length of barrel, 4.8 inches Distance between sights, 8 1/2 inches. / Agents / SCHOVERLING, DALY & CALES, / 302-304 BROADWAY NEW YORK, U.S.A.". The upper right depicts a mans hand aiming a Luger pistol and the label is bordered by a floral design. There are no other markings on or in the box. The box comes in a wooden case with a sliding glass lid.

Very good. The back edge (hinged side) of the lid is partially separated and there are some pieces of the sides absent (a couple are in the box). A portion of the back edge of the body is separated, there is some tape residue from old repairs, the left end and side wall of the body are damaged on the upper half. Almost all of the black outer paper remains and the interior shows moderate scuffs and stains. The wooden protective display case is excellent. One will probably never see another one of these for sale separately in their lifetime. The ultimate addition to your Luger collection!
