This is a fine example of a third model, Zero Series P 38 pistol. These zero series pistols were originally the first true commercial P38s that were later pressed into service by the German Army, as the demand for handgun increased. These all had nicely machined and finished parts with the high-polish commercial blue finish. The grips are black Bakelite with checkered panels with a rounded lanyard ring on the lower left side. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther Banner followed by "P.38" and serial number 08176. The front of the barrel, left side of the frame and locking block also have the correct matching serial number. The right side of the slide ad left side of the frame both carry the correct "eagle/359" Army acceptance mark as well as some the various components or small parts. As noted the magazine with the pistol was an original zero-series magazine that was original numbered on the side "02370" + and which was field re-stamped on the floor plate "08176" to match the pistol. It complete with a unnumbered wartime Walther magazine and a black leather P38 holster that is stamped on the back, "CWW/Eagle WaA790/ 1941/P38". .

Fine with 60% of the original blue finish with wear and blue loss on all the edges and high spots, the front of the grip straps, the front edges of the slide, the muzzle of the barrel, and the front half of the right side of the slide. The grips are also in fine condition overall with fine checkering. The holster and spare magazine are both in fine condition, with nice color, clear sharp markings and tight stitching. A nice honest zero series P38 pistol, just showing original wartime use.
