This is truly an unbelievable, one-of-a-kind deluxe double rifle that was clearly designed, hand built and assembled by a group of master machinists, engravers, stock makers and gun finishers from the Connecticut Shotgun Mfg. company. To fully appreciate and understand the beauty and masterful manufacturing of this rifle you have to actually see and hold this rifle in person. This rifle was produced in a diminutive or youth size that is actually 100% functional and ready to use. It appears to be designed on a scaled down version of an original Winchester Model 21 type shotgun that was factory built as a double rifle. There is an unbelievable amount of master level custom engraving and gold inlaid embellishment in such a small area. The complete receiver, upper and lower tangs, recoil shield, trigger guard, break lever, all have 100% of a finely detailed masterfully relief engraved floral vine engraving with a squirrel on a log looking at the frog on the left side, two rabbits running in a field scene on the right, a rat standing on a banner on each side engraved "ANSLEY H. FOX". The bottom of the action has a gold inlaid squirrel on a tree branch retrieving gold inlaid acorns. The action, break lever and upper tang as well as the squirrel on the bottom are bordered with a gold inlaid wire. The trigger guard has a gold inlaid prairie dog in a farm scene with gold inlaid wire border. The long lower tang has the same floral vine engraving with gold inlaid wire border and gold "R007" in a banner. The water table is decorated with a simple scallop and dot border and the serial number and patent dates are in gold. The breech ends of the barrels and rib extension are engraved with the floral vine design, the right side rear has a gold inlaid mother squirrel with three little ones behind her and a gold inlaid mother raccoon and her three babies are on the left side. The top rear right barrel is gold inlaid "MADE TO ORDER, A.H.FOX" and the left "KRUPP - FLUID - STEEL". There is a thin gold wire band around the breech and muzzle ends of the barrels. The barrel flat is marked "R007" on the left and "CAL. 22. L.R." in gold. The barrel is fitted with a raised front blade and raised fixed rear sights. The muzzle and breech ends, as well as the ejectors have a cross hatch design. Gold washed double triggers and tang mounted safety. Signed by the engraver ("RICHARD ROY") near the trigger. The rifle is mounted with a hand checkered deluxe exhibition grade highly figured walnut stock, and matching splinter forend. The forearm is almost completely checkered with a multi point border at the rear edge, ebony forend insert and hardware relief engraved with the same floral vine design with gold wire bordering. The stock flats have arrows (as opposed to tear drop) and the checkering has decorative bordering. The butt is fitted with horn heel and toe pieces with the center finely hand checkered. The rifle is complete in a custom made leather wrapped oak case with contrasting and gold embossed accents on the lid and bottom. The inside of the lid is lined with white satin with gold embossed "A.H. FOX" in the center. The interior is fitted maroon pebble grain leather lined with five compartments, one for the stock, one for the forearm, one for the barrel with a compartment under it which contains the cleaning rod and a two level compartment with lid which holds two horn handled screwdrivers up top and cleaning rod accessories below. There is a high polished brass oiler and small container. There is a padded maroon leather cover gold embossed "A.H. FOX" that the protected the gun while in the case.

Near new with only the slightest handling marks. The case and accessories are all excellent. An unbelievable exhibition quality double rifle in .22 caliber! This is definitely one for the high quality collector!
