Manufactured in 1938, the first year of production. Patridge front sight with an adjustable replacement target rear sight, pivoting thumb safety and serrated trigger. The matte top of the barrel is marked with the standard two line address and patent information. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Match Target bull's-eye logo. "THE WOODSMAN" is marked on the left side of the frame and "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL.22 LONG RIFLE" along with the Rampant Colt is on the left side of the slide. Checkered two piece target grips. The two-tone magazine is marked "COLT WOODSMAN / CAL 22 L.R./ MATCH TARGET MOD." on the floor plate. Complete with brown Colt box.

Excellent as customized. The pistol retains 95% of the original blue finish with light scratches and edge wear overall. The grips are very fine period custom replacement with a few scratches and minor gouges scattered overall. Mechanically excellent. The incorrect post-war box is fair with a few tears and moderate wear.
