A) Pre-War Terni Arsenal Carcano Model 1891/ 28 T.S. Carbine

Description:

This is a "Special Troops" (Truppe Speciali) variant Italian bolt action carbine, the top of the rear portion of the barrel is marked with a crown over "R.E / TERNI" and right side is marked "AT", "36-XIV" and the serial number on the left side. Blade front sight and adjustable rear sight with iron battle sight underneath the adjustable arm. Smooth straight grip stock with a folding 13" spike bayonet mounted on the muzzle of the barrel, unreadable cartouche just ahead of the sling slot, crude "PB" carved on the right rear and flat steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The carbine retains 50% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the barrel, scattered blue finish on the receiver mixed with smooth gray and almost all of the finish on the magazine housing, (bottom plate absent). The stock is very good with scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. Crisp and clear markings highlighted in white. The action is fine.

Description:

Fixed sights on a barrel marked "942-XX / GARDONE VT / SM7204". The left side of the buttstock is marked with a boxed "crown / FAG / 42" cartouche and the serial number. Features a folding bayonet. Complete with a leather scabbard stamped "ARRIGON / 1935 / TORINO".

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The carbine retains 95% original blue finish showing some minor thinning to a brown patina and some scattered light spotting. The remaining finish on the bayonet has taken on a purple hue. The stock is very fine with a few minor gouges and some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The scabbard is very fine with some minor handling marks and flex wear. The stitching is tight.
