Description:

Blade is 27" long, with a fine wavy hamon, silver habaki, and silver banded blackened copper seppa. Square profile iron tsuba, with raised and gold accented plant-themed engraving. Tsuka is fitted with a black cord wrap over white rayskin, with raised insect designs on the gold trimmed silver fuchi and kashira, and gilt leaf pattern menuki. Mekugi is absent. The nakago is hand signed (14 symbols) on the left side, with the right side blank. Red and black lacquered saya with black lacquered koiuchi, silver kojiri with raised insect designs and absent kurigata.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The tip of the blade has been reshaped, with a few light scratches and dings on the overall bright metal and a strong hamon. The silver components show a fine dark patina, with light wear on the gold accents, and very good wrap. Saya is good, showing some varnish flaking in the kurigata area and light scratches overall.
