Description:

German silver cone front and groove rear sights, with "PETTENGILLS/ PATENT 1856" on the right side of the sighting groove and "PATd JULY 22 1856/ & JULY 27 1858" on the left side. The bottom of the frame is marked: "PATENTED / NOV. 4 1862". The barrel, frame and cylinder are marked "WW", with matching numbers on the cylinder, trigger guard and butt. Smooth two piece grips with a fine cartouche on the left panel. With notes from the consignor.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus, with traces of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina overall, scattered areas of pitting, concentrated near the muzzle, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. Grips are fine, with sharp cartouche pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically good.
