This is a sniper variation of the Swedish Model 1896 rifle. The top of the receiver is marked " Crown/C / CARL GUSTAFS STADS / GEVARSFAKTORI. / 1908.". Various parts are marked with "crown" proofs and matching numbers. This model has the early high polished rust blued parts, polished bolt and heat blue trigger and bolt release. The rifle is equipped with a side rail mounted scope with leather lens covers. The scope is marked "AGA" toward the front and "3x65 m/44 / MR378" on the left side. The elevation dial on top of the scope is graduated to 800 meters. The rear sight is graduated from 300-600 meters. The stock has a brass disk on the right side stamped "114" and "No 181" and the yellow affixed sight adjustment label, and three "crisp" crown proofs on the underside of the wrist. The rifle is complete with a cleaning rod.

Excellent. The rifle retains 95% original blue finish with a few nicks and scratches on the barrel and thinning on the bolt release. The stock is good with a number of small pressure dents near the floorplate and overall scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. The m/44 scope on the rifle is excellent on the exterior, with the optics being a little hazy. The m/42 scope is very fine with hazy optics and the can is very good with a few dents, some paint loss and the strap is separated. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. An excellent Swedish sniper rifle package.
