This is an excellent example of a Walther produced G43 semi-automatic sniper rifle with an extra length barrel. The barrel measures 25 inches in length, which is three inches longer than the standard 22 inch length. (Refer to page 105 of "The German Sniper 1914-1945" by Senich, in which he states that this was done to improve accuracy.) Additionally, the rifle was fitted with a dual bolt guide rib for increased stability and accuracy. The left side of the receiver is marked with the Nazi Eagle proof ahead of "G43" followed by the serial number and a stamped "ac / 44" code indicating manufacture at the Walther plant. The serial number is also present on the left side of the bolt carrier under the cocking lever and an "eagle / 359" proof above the serial number. The hollow cocking knob is on the left side and the safety lever is on the rear of the receiver. The action cover is the stamped version with the automatic sliding dust cover. This rifle has the side mounted quick release scope mount and unmarked ZF style scope. The rifle has the standard hooded blade front sight with the standard military rear tangent sight graduated to 1,200 meters. The stock and matching handguard are the correct WWII pistol grip laminated version with a cupped steel buttplate with the buttstock compartment. The left side of the stock has two crisp "eagle swastika / 359" proofs and the pistol grip area has an Eagle Waffenamt proof with the matching serial number and "eagle / 359" proof on the underside. One of the inspector proofs was added next to a small stock blemish, indicating the blemish was noted at the factory and did not occur later. Complete with a cleaning rod with slotted head, brown leather sling with diamond pattern and "avx" marked K43 magazine.

Excellent. The rifle retains 97% original blue finish with thinning on the barrel and some wear from normal cycling of the action. The stock is excellent with a few minor scratches on the left side from the sling buckle, a few minor dings and dents, and crisp proof marks. The exterior of the scope is very good, however the optics are foggy. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. Writer can not recall ever being offered another example of a long barrel G43. Very rare!!
