Description:

Manufactured in 1940. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/1884, 1905 and 1926 patent dates, the left side is marked "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT" and the Rampant Colt appears on the left side of the frame. The butt is marked with a "W" and what looks like two open ended Cs (significance unknown). Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights all blue finish with hammer sides polished and fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% plus original bright blue finish with some minor muzzle and high edge wear, and a light drag line on the cylinder. The grips are fine with a chip on the lower right side edge, two small areas of smoothly worn checkering on the left panel, overall a few minor dings and for the most part crisp checkering. Sharp markings. Excellent action, but trigger spring return is a little weak.
