Description:

1) Nazi Police Official's Sword, 33 1/4" single fuller straight edge blade, stamped on the left ricasso with a pair of overlapping "sig" lightning runes, no other makers marks. Nickel finished knuckle guard and ribbed horn grip, with the police "eagle in wreath" badge on the right side of the grip and the SS runes on the pommel. With a black and silver portapee, matching solid acorn, and a black painted steel sheath with weave-pattern throat accent. 2) Eickhorn Luftwaffe Flyer's Sword, 28 1/2" double edged blade with short single fullers, marked with the Eickhorn logo on one side. Nickel finished guard and hilt, with feather, oak leaf and sunwheel designs and a wire wrapped blue leather grip. The underside of the guard is marked "Nr.40" and "Fl.Gr. Gottingen(ZA)". Gottingen was home to the Aerodynamische Versuchsanstalt, an advanced aerodynamics lab and wind tunnel establishment, and 2./Versuchsverband Ob.d.L, a.k.a. "Zirkus Rosarius", which analyzed and flight tested captured Allied aircraft. Blue leather sheath, with nickel throat and tip and a blue leather hanger.

Rating Definition:

1) Fine, with some light spotting on the blade, flaking of the nickel, a few small chips on the grip and some flaking and a brown patina on the sheath. 2) Very fine, with some light dings and flakes on the otherwise excellent blade, a slight yellow tint to the hilt and guard, also with mild flaking and some wear on the leather.
